This is a fairly unique website since you don’t see many black and white designs, however it does it with great style and effectiveness, incorporating a slideshow and making use of a decreasing gradient of light from the top downwards to highlight the navigation menu. There is some animation which seems rather unessential, and does not really add much. Overall the site is well made and sturdy, and one page even includes a colour inverter to help read the large amount of text, which is an intuitive feature. Pretty darn awesome.

Duct Tape and Glitter

The website might not be the most awesome one out there, but it certainly doesn’t let us down for design and style. With a prominent central slideshow, and plenty of well contrasting colours and good quality images, it is of a very good standard. The overall look of the website is stylish yet maintains a good standard of professionalism.

This website consists of a single page, with a fixed header and navigation menu at the top, which scrolls the page up and down to each section.
It features a rustic style and each background sticks to the theme of exploration. It’s made using HTML5 and makes use of fontface to incorporate awesome fonts.

This one is very nice. Professional looking, a great texture consistent across the whole page, the slideshow works very well to present what the company is about, and an excellently laid out presentation of information.

FireFly

This may be just a holding page, but it’s one of the most impressive I’ve ever seen. The subtle glow of the background and the effect of fireflies flying about in the background is almost magical. The overall design is brilliant, some great fonts and contrast of colour works very well. Very awesome.

Stubble and Glasses

This website is packed with awesome. It has an informal sketch style with no uniform neatness, and plenty of colour, making it very stylish yet still keeps a good level of professionalism. The information around the page is well laid out, including plenty of relevant images and a couple of slideshow blocks, presented excellently.

This site takes the traditional superhero design and incorporates it into a modern, artistic design. It’s very simplistic and the whole page is literally a slider left and right navigated by the top menu.

This ye olde school 30′s style is very stylish, with rough textures adding to that aged look, coupled with great use of hover techniques – the way the light fades in and out like an old lightbulb for example – is very appealing, and makes this an awesome design.

This site has a design that is very sleek, professional, and pleasing on the eye. The images and uniformly spaced boxes combine with the slideshow to make a very attractive look.

A nice little website, great contrast of colours, well laid out, very well designed, can’t fault it apart from the little strip of colours at the top and bottom of the page, seems a little bit out. The animation is a good touch and the artistic style across the site is well made and very awesome.
